Maggie Koch has been hired as an assistant coach for Syracuse women’s lacrosse’s 2025 season, SU announced Friday. Koch replaces former assistant coach Abigail Rehfuss, who left SU after the 2024 campaign.
Koch will train SU’s goalkeepers in 2025. She formerly filled the same role with the Orange from 2008-11, working with All-American goalie Liz Hogan.
Prior to her coaching career, Koch starred at Georgetown. As a junior in 2006, the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, native led the country in save percentage (.572), being named the IWLCA Goalkeeper of the Year and Big East Defensive Player of the Year.
After leaving the Orange in 2011, Koch was the head coach of The Episcopal School of Dallas, before serving as the general manager of the United Women’s Lacrosse League’s Philadelphia Force from 2017-19. Most recently, she helmed St. Andrew’s Episcopal School (Texas) to a conference semifinal for the first time in its history.
Following Delaney Sweitzer’s transfer to Northwestern, Daniella Guyette is currently in line to be Syracuse’s starting goalkeeper in 2025. The junior recorded 11 saves in just 78 minutes last year.
