SPD is investigating a fight that occurred early Sunday morning on Ackerman Avenue. Two students sustained laceration wounds.

Two students sustained laceration wounds in a reported fight early Sunday morning at 938 Ackerman Ave., according to a 4:35 a.m. public safety notice from SU’s Department of Public Safety.

DPS and Syracuse Police Department officers responded to reports of a fight at around 1:54 a.m., according to a Sunday morning SPD release. Officers located a 21-year-old man with a laceration to his face, who was treated at the scene. A 19-year-old man who was also reportedly involved in the fight was treated for a stab wound to the neck at Crouse Hospital, according to SPD. Both victims’ injuries were not life-threatening.

When officers first arrived on the scene, several people — including the believed suspects — fled on foot, according to DPS. DPS described the suspects as two men wearing black clothing and black ski masks.

SPD, who is investigating the incident, asked that any witnesses or people with information contact the department. SPD’s Criminal Investigations Division can be reached at (315) 442-5222.

People can contact DPS at (315) 443-2224. The Silent Witness website and Orange Safe app can be used to anonymously report non-emergency information to DPS.
